Jacqueline Olive founded Tell It Media in 2011 To create short and feature-length documentaries, narrative fiction, and hybrid films, as well as UNSCRIPTED SERIES and immersive media projects that tell nuanced stories of the people, places, and cultures that make up our diverse world.
JACQUELINE OLIVE
Jacqueline Olive is an award-winning filmmaker and immersive media producer whose work explores the people, places, and cultures that shape our world. Drawing on nearly two decades of experience in journalism and film, she founded Tell It Media in 2011 to create projects that center underrepresented voices with depth and authenticity.
Her debut feature documentary, Always in Season, received the 2019 Sundance Film Festival Special Jury Prize for Moral Urgency, the 2020 SIMA Documentary Jury Prize for Ethos, and nominations from the IDA Documentary Awards and Cinema Eye Honors. Following its PBS Independent Lens broadcast in 2020, it became the season’s highest-rated film. Jackie expanded the project into Always in Season Island, a virtual reality experience that earned a 2022 Peabody Award for innovation in digital and interactive storytelling.
Her additional work includes Death is Our Business (FRONTLINE/PBS, WORLD Channel) and Lincoln’s Dilemma, the Emmy Award–nominated Apple TV+ documentary series. Most recently, she wrote and directed The Color of Cola with Stanley Nelson.
